Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

This policy explains what information sceniccitylife.com (“Scenic City Life,” “we,” “us”) collects and how it’s used. Scenic City Life is a free community blog about Chattanooga and North Georgia. We don’t sell products, run ads or use affiliate links at this time.

Information we collect

  • Contact form. If you use our contact form (built with WPForms), we collect what you enter, usually your name, email address and message. We use it only to reply to you, and it’s stored in our WordPress site and email.
  • Comments. If comments are turned on and you leave one, WordPress stores your name, email, website (optional), comment, IP address and browser information to help detect spam. If you have an account, you can edit comments.
  • Server logs. Our host, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.

Cookies

We use CookieYes to show a cookie notice and remember your choice. WordPress may set cookies if you log in or leave a comment. Site performance tools may also use cookies. You can accept, reject or change your choice in the cookie banner, and you can clear cookies in your browser at any time.

Services we use

  • Hostinger hosts the website.
  • WordPress runs the site, with the Rank Math SEO plugin (sitemaps and search settings), WPForms (contact form), CookieYes (cookie consent) and LiteSpeed Cache (page speed).
  • Google Search Console gives us summary data about how the site appears in Google search. It doesn’t identify individual visitors.
  • Embedded content. Posts may include embedded maps or videos (for example from Google Maps or YouTube). Those behave as if you visited the other site and may collect data under that site’s own policy.

How long we keep information

Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up. Comments and their details are kept so they can stay on the post. Server logs are kept by Hostinger under its own retention policy.

Sharing

We don’t sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers above as needed to run the site, or if the law requires it.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information you’ve sent us through the contact form or comments. Use the Contact page and we’ll take care of it.

Children

This site is meant for a general audience and doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change how the site handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
